Delaware State University seeks applicants for Assistant Women's Basketball Coach. The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach reports to the Head Women's Basketball Coach and is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of daily operations of the program, but not limited to: game scheduling, academic monitoring, housing, and practice, game coaching, on and off campus recruiting and all other duties assigned. DSU is a member of the NCAA and the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.The following are the functions essential to performing this job. * Assist in scouting, talent assessment and recruitment of academically astute student-athletes.
Assist in monitoring of the academic progress of team members.
Knowledge of and commitment to compliance within the scope of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) rules and regulations.
Assist with the promotion of the basketball program within the state, region, national and international landscape.
Assist with emphasizing the character and social development of student-athletes.
Must be committed to the Head Coach's philosophy and the importance of good citizenship both on and off the court.
Individuals in this job may be assigned one or more of the following tasks on a rotating or as-needed basis. * Attends fundraising events throughout the year.
Assist with marketing and promotions efforts
Liaison with Compliance and Athletic Academic Support

Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
Successful experience: Coaching experience at the collegiate, junior collegiate, high school or AAU level.
Other preferences: Previous collegiate playing experience (preferably in the sport of basketball) is desirable but not required.
