- Plan, conduct, and technically direct projects, coordinating efforts of engineers and technical support staff.
- Ensure projects are delivered within budget and on schedule, maintaining safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with vendors to produce tooling and associated hardware.
- Integrate hardware into production and research/development cycles.
- Work with customers and technical personnel to ensure production requirements are met.
- Set up prototype equipment and use experimental materials to test theories and designs.
- Discuss progress and findings at monthly technical review meetings, adapting projects based on feedback.
- Perform specialized programming, design, or analysis tasks under indirect supervision.
- Follow detailed instructions regarding working plans and methods.
- Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
- Formulate opinions, decisions, and performance outcomes as specified in task orders.
- Apply engineering experience to systems integration, configuration management, quality assurance, testing, and analysis.
- Independently perform high-level assessment and review functions, providing definitive written and oral recommendations for tests conducted.
- Proficiency in design and mechanical design using AutoCAD, SW, and Catia.
- Experience in the automotive industry, particularly with conveyor systems such as roller bed and skillet conveyors.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 10-20+ years of experience in the field.
- Resume of completed projects in automotive and conveyance markets.
- Experience integrating mechanical designs into production or test environments.
- Basic knowledge and experience working with controls engineers.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Advanced mathematical and statistical skills for problem-solving.
- Strong engineering concept understanding and experience designing mechanical systems.
- Exceptional technical, problem-solving, and reasoning abilities.
- Relevant certifications, registrations, and licenses may be required.
- Superb creativity, vision, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
- Self-motivated and a great team worker.
- Quality-focused with strong interpersonal skills.
- Expect up to 50% travel.
