Our portfolio spans a broad spectrum of public and private asset classes, and we are committed to expanding our capabilities and our toolkit in furtherance of our mission.The PositionLiberty Mutual Investments (LMI) is actively searching for a Structured Products Analyst to join the Global Fixed Income team. As a member of the Structured Products Group, the Analyst will track, analyze and monitor public and private investments in the portfolio and help support investment activity in close partnership with portfolio managers, analysts, and various other stakeholders.The individual will be exposed to a wide range of asset classes in the structured products market including ABS, CMBS, CLOS and RMBS. The individual hired will be centrally involved in evaluating investment opportunities, due diligence, and portfolio monitoring.Responsibilities:
  • Work as part of the Structured Products Group (SPG) within Global Fixed Income (GFI) to support growth in structured products investments
  • Securitized experience a plus
  • Actively participate in all facets of the investment process
  • Assist in surveillance of LMI’s structured products portfolio and support investment activity.
  • Work with asset class analysts to underwrite, track, analyze and monitor public and private transactions
  • Collaborate with LMI technology to develop analytics and infrastructure to efficiently surveil collateral performance and highlight issues to portfolio managers
  • Work independently and coordinate with various third-party partners including servicers, trustees, administrative agents and asset managers
  • Create presentations, memorandums, and other documentation
  • Act as a liaison between the Structured team and Global Investment Services
  • Attend internal and external investment meetings
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, mathematics, or economics
  • 1-3 years related work or internship experience preferably in finance or investments
  • Strong Excel modeling and PowerPoint presentation development skills
  • Solid foundation in accounting and finance
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and time-sensitive deliverables with a high degree of quality and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and quantitative background
  • The ability to manipulate and analyze large data sets
  • Experience with programming languages preferred
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate across teams
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with a variety of investment and support professionals
  • Team player with a willingness to be flexible and take on additional responsibilities depending on the needs of the business
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Intellectual curiosity with the ability to think critically, challenge assumptions, and contribute ideas to the organization
