Job OverviewResponsible for planning/scheduling and facilitating Assessment Testing and Academic orientation in the first week of the career preparation program including advanced vocational training opportunities. Provide students with basic direction, in compliance with government and management directives.Pay: $23.13/hour plus an additional $4.93/hour (up to maximum of 40 hours per week) used to offset the cost of elected benefitsHours: 8:00am-5:00pmRetirement Plan: Eligible to participate in company 401(k) with Company matching after 1 yearVacation: Minimum of ten days per year. ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties & Job Functions:
- Work closely with career specialists, career counselors, and students to identify obstacles to success and recommend remediation.
- Assist in various student testing programs related/required for specific trades.
- Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, career and academic training, or study habits.
- Coordinate with team as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training.
- Prepare required documentation.
- Administer and correct tests. Maintain progress and attendance reports.
- Control use of supplies, materials, and equipment. Recommend purchases.
- Access and train students to use computers and applicable software.
- Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
- Cultivate and maintain a climate on Center which is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
- Monitor student progress in the program by ensuring compliance with established corporate and DOL Data Integrity guidelines.
- Promote student attainment of career success standards through modeling appropriate skills, mentoring students, monitoring skill acquisition and intervening when inappropriate behavior is observed.
- Assist in providing individualized scheduling for students.
- Assist with maintenance of balanced class loads.
- Provide clerical support to the career services staff as needed.
- Monitor student attendance, correct absences with appropriate staff documentation, print and distribute absence reports.
- Draft and type interdepartmental correspondence, reports, and other documents as directed, review all documents for accuracy and for correct grammar and punctuation.
- Support and adhere to the zero tolerance policy.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year related experience in record keeping, data entry, or administrative support.
- Previous experience working with youth.
- Successfully pass a background check and drug test.
- Valid driver’s license, with an acceptable driving record.
