JOB DESCRIPTION: The Certified Surgical Technologist prepares operating rooms and necessary equipment and instruments prior to any surgical procedure. S/he assists in preparing patients for surgery to help provide exceptional patient experience.JOB DUTIES:
Prepare sterile operating rooms for surgeries, including sterilize equipment and instruments
Stock adequate supplies for surgery and track surgical supplies
Provide support during surgery by passing instruments and other supplies
Stay current on surgical technology, medical terminology and procedures
Work well with surgeons, surgical assistants, nurses and surgical team to provide exceptional patient experience
The Surgical Technologist assumes other responsibilities as assigned by surgeons and the Surgical Nursing Director.JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills, required
Strong attention to detail, vigilance and meticulous care on the job, required
Passion for keeping people safe, required
Strong understanding of surgical technology, medical terminology and surgical procedure, required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent, required
Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program, preferred.
BLS required
