OverviewThis is a 1st shift Production Control position in support of various programs including Virginia, and Delivered Ship availability's. The successful candidate will be required to perform cross discipline Production Control functions which include, but are not limited to, Work Order management, ship equipment expediting in support of Work Order schedules, change processing, and work completion close-out. In order to perform these functions, the successful candidate will be required to interface with Operations, Engineering, Design, Material Systems, Configuration Management, Quality and other support organizations at various levels of management. Successful candidate will be expected to be aware of and in compliance with those attributes of Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Process Improvement as they apply to their position.This is an onsite position located in the Groton, CT facility Monday - Friday 6AM -2:30PM.QualificationsRequired:
High School Diploma or equivalent
2 + years’ experience in Trade/ Shipyard/ Military/ Trade School/ Planning/ Production Control/ Material Control/ Program Management
Preferred:
Experience with Piping systems
Technical Schooling or job experience in one of the following disciplines is desired: Electrical, Mechanical, Piping, Sheetmetal/HVAC, Shipwrights and StructuralPrior shipyard or submarine experience * Experience with blueprint readingSkills
Working knowledge of ARTEMIS, MRPII, ERS, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point
Good PC computer skills
Good organizational skills
Good verbal and written communication skills along with good interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of management
Ability to walk the shipyard and maneuver throughout the shipyard including climbing multiple levels
