The District reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.Position: Elementary ParaprofessionalDescription: Work with elementary school children, both in general education classrooms and the special education classroom to support students academically, socially, emotionally, and/or physically. Position involves working 1:1 with students, with small groups of students or supporting students within the general education inclusion setting as well as toileting.QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Associates degree, some college credit or passing the paraprofessional test.
  • Knowledge and understanding of various disabilities
  • Knowledge of school classroom procedure, including preparation and maintenance of records.
  • Knowledge of special education procedures.
  • Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the Elementary School level.
  • Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting.
  • Support students academically, emotionally, behaviorally, socially in the school setting
  • Assist students with toileting as needed
  • Ability to follow directions and implement accommodations and modifications as directed by teachers and related service providers
  • Ability to collect data consistently
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable by the principal, special education
coordinator, and Director of Student Services.Requirements:A team player to work as a paraprofessional providing academic support for students. Candidate will work with elementary school children, both in general education classrooms and the special education classroom to support students academically, socially, emotionally, and/or physically.Successful candidate will have a positive attitude and must work well as a member of a team.Ability to build relationships with students and colleagues, and provide ongoing support and direction to students.
