Based on area of necessity and assignment, responsibilities may include answering inbound phone calls, making outbound phone calls, processing faxed, electronic or verbal prior authorizations, and basic computer system operations. Demonstrates the ability to competently work in different areas of pharmacy practice.Essential Functions:
- Ensures basic knowledge of call center functions. Develops continuous call center etiquette when taking/making phone calls. Implement phone call documentation on all inbound or outbound calls. (50%)
- Ensures basic knowledge of prior authorizations. Implement decisions for prior authorization based off criteria and send to clinical review when appropriate. (30%)
- Triages and escalates any prior authorizations, questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician scope of practice to the direct supervisor or pharmacist on duty as needed. (20%)
- High School Diploma or GED required and
- Post High School Diploma or Certificate Program completion of a pharmacy technician training program, preferred
- At least one year of pharmacy technician in a healthcare or retail setting required
- CPHT-Certified Pharmacy Technician - PTCB - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required and
- PHAT-Licensed Pharmacy Technician - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies required
- Ability to work as a team member

- Organization and communication skills
- Good typing, keyboarding and proofreading skills
- Ability to work independently within a remote setting
- Knowledge of prescription processing and third-party billing, if applicable
- Proficiency with Microsoft® Office, preferred
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously based off compliance times or due dates
