Primary PurposePRIMARY PURPOSEDirects, coordinates and performs assignments involving the day-to-day operation andmaintenance of all building electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
Primary DutiesSUMMARY OF DUTIES1. Within the limits of the required certifications, performs or arranges all tests,maintenance, repairs and replacement of all associated equipment that relates to HV AC,electrical systems, emergency power systems, fire alarm systems, evaluates and diagnoseproblems and recommends solutions.2. Obtain electrical permits as required.3. Estimate costs of modifications and or new installations.4. Provide necessary liaison with Facility and contractor personnel.5. Review and inspect work by contractors.6. Direct, train and/or assist lower classified employees in all phases of buildingelectrician work.7. Perform general Facilities work as required.8. Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practicalskill in painting, carpentry, masonry, lock repair, grounds keeping.9. Provides assistance during Facility emergencies.10. Operate Energy Management System.11. Reads blueprints and wiring plans.
Minimum QualificationsJOB REQUIREMENTS1. DC Master Electrician License2. MD Master Electrician License3. DC Class 6 - Steam and Hot Water Heating Boiler Engineer4. MD Grade 3 - Stationary Engineer5. Universal CFC Certificate6. FERC and NERC Certification7. Possess demonstrated ability and experience as a Building Electrician "A" or possessequivalent related experience.8. Ability to follow company Safety guidelines policies and procedures.9. Valid driver license.10. Ability to write, speak, read, comprehend and communicate clearly and accurately withthe English language.11. Possess demonstrated ability and experience using tools in the performance of painting,carpentry, masonry, lock repair, grounds keeping.12. Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, modify and correct blueprints,schematics, sketches and diagrams.13. Possess knowledge of computer use (e.g. word processing, e-mail and spreadsheetsoftware).14. Pass any Company required tests/assessments and meets other screening requirements.15. Able to work overtime, including callout, consistent with the Labor Agreement.16. Possess High School Diploma or GED or Trade School Diploma.17. Possess 5 years' combination of education and experience.
Preferred QualificationsPREFERRED REQUIREMENTS {EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE)College or Associate degree in Applied Sciences or related fieldPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:1. Able to perform indoor and outdoor work in hot and cold temperatures.2. Able to work in enclosed spaces, on or around energized equipment; work in dirty, dustyand low light areas.3. Able to use both hands and arms simultaneously.4. Able to work while squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling or standing for extendedperiods.5. Able to climb ladders or structures, lift and carry 50 pounds and possess a high degree ofmanual dexterity.6. Pass a hearing test in the audible range with or without a hearing device.7. Possess 20/20 vision or corrected 20/20 vision. Pass a color vision test. Will have to beable to distinguish color coded wiring in equipment.8. Regularly required to walk, stand. Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handleor feel objects, tools or controls. Often required to reach with hands or arms, climb orbalance and stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.Position subject to passing the pre-employment physical examination.Must pass the criminal history background check.
