- Litigation Support: Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including drafting, formatting, and filing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery materials.
- Calendaring: Manage complex attorney schedules, including court appearances, depositions, hearings, and deadlines, ensuring accurate and timely calendar updates.
- Legal Desk Management: Oversee the administrative operations of a legal desk, including document management, case file organization, and correspondence.
- Attorney Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to multiple attorneys, including scheduling meetings, coordinating travel, and handling client communications.
- Document Preparation: Prepare, proofread, and finalize legal documents, ensuring compliance with court rules and firm standards.
- Client Interaction: Serve as a point of contact for clients, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in all communications.
- Case Management: Track case progress, maintain case files, and ensure all deadlines are met in accordance with court and firm requirements.
- Technology Proficiency: Utilize legal software (e.g., case management systems, e-filing platforms) and Microsoft Office Suite to streamline workflows.
- E-Filing: Handle electronic filing of legal documents with state and local courts, ensuring compliance with specific court requirements and deadlines.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a litigation secretary or in a similar legal administrative role, with a strong focus on litigation, calendaring, and e-filing with state and local courts.
- Skills:
- Proven ability to manage a legal desk and support multiple attorneys simultaneously.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in legal software (e.g., iManage, Clio, or similar), e-filing platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
