Retirement - Utah Retirement Systems (URS):
  • Employees hired on or after than 7/1/2011 and have never been in the URS retirement system have two options for retirement in the Tier II System. Employer contributions to your 401(k) are vested after four years.
  • Employees who have any service credit with an employer covered by the Utah Retirement Systems prior to 7/1/2011 are in Tier I Public Employees System.
  • Tier 2 Hybrid Retirement System. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary between both plans (pension and 401(k))
  • Tier 2 Defined Contribution Plan. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary to a 401(k) plan only.
  • Employees who have any service credit with an employer covered by the Utah Retirement Systems prior to 7/1/2011 are in Tier I Public Employees System.
Paid Time Off:
  • Annual leave and sick leave are accrued at 4 hours per pay period each (4 hours annual, 4 hours sick).
  • Annual leave increases with years of service.

  • Write well designed code.
  • Implement, diagnose, repair, upgrade, and optimize technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems related to an existing system, and/or new systems, environments, and technology.
  • Provide assistance to other IT staff in researching and answering technical questions.
  • Work with third-party vendors on requirements and implementation.
  • Support and enhance existing applications.
  • Create a positive environment, evaluate group processes, recommend solutions or alternatives, etc.
  • Recommend user level computer system enhancements to better meet customer needs.
  • Monitor system performance to ensure proper operation and identify possible problem areas.
Candidate to provide support for various ongoing projects and new upcoming projects related to all web applications for the Department of Workforce Services.Qualifications
  • Ability to work well with business management and DTS management and developers
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in HTML, JavaScript.
  • Excellent client-side debugging skills
  • Experience with Java 11+, including Spring MVC, JPA, and other modern Java-based frameworks/tools
  • Experience with Angular 13+
  • Experience with mobile application development (Apple / Android)
  • Experience with Oracle PL/SQL
  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements
  • Ability to anticipate the impact that new or modified software will have on existing systems
  • Experience preparing software documentation for future reference and maintenance needs
  • Experience in developing test cases to evaluate the success of both software upgrades and modifications
  • Ability to identify problems or potential problem areas and recommends solutions
  • Experience with team lead responsibilities, preferred but not required
  • Experience with the agile software development process, preferred
