Job Description:POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision from the Human Resources Manager the Senior Human Resources Generalist (Sr. HRG) will provide comprehensive administrative support for the day-to-day operations of human resources functions and duties. The Senior HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organization development, and employment as they support their assigned sites or programs.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The list that follows is not intended as a comprehensive list, but rather to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) will be required to perform a variety of duties listed, including but not limited to:
  • Provides full-cycle Human Resources support to Supervisors and all NVIH staff on a variety of tactical topics including but not limited to, policy interpretation, requests for information, employee engagement, performance management, and coaching and counseling.
  • Provides support to HR Team in areas of subject-matter-expert including but not limited to LOA, workplace investigations, complex Interactive Process for ADA Reasonable Accommodation requests, Performance Management metric development
  • Manage LOA process and requests for employees within assigned business unit; including coordination with 3rd party administrator (as appropriate), meeting with employees to explain leave benefits, coordinating with payroll, and communication with supervisors on RTW status. Engages in the Interactive Process for ADA Reasonable Accommodation requests; supports HRGs with complex cases
  • Support Talent Acquisition on requisitions for assigned business unit, including but not limited to opening requisition to making the offer, following appropriate processes.
  • Operates as the lead in effectively and thoroughly conducting workplace investigations with support from other HRG; provides recommendations to HR Leadership for approval prior to concluding investigation. Generates conclusion reports.
  • Coach and mentor supervisors on policy interpretation and HR best practices to reduce risk to the agency on employee matters.
  • Collaborate with HR Leadership on employee matters affecting business units primarily served to ensure continuity of service to all departments and employees.
  • Supports New Hire Orientations and Onboarding in coordination with other HRG staff and hiring managers.
  • Supports HR Department with various projects to meet deadlines and manage assigned area of HR or HR Program.
  • Provides solution-based feedback to HR Leadership on various items requiring escalation or areas identified as needing improvement.
  • Provides support to internal and external customers with thorough communication and follow-through.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills:REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSThe following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required for an employee to successfully perform their duties.
  • High school graduate or equivalent. Degree preferred.
  • HR Certification preferred
  • Minimum of three years of related HR experience.
  • Advanced understanding of HR functions.
  • Understanding of HR reporting and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge on one or more functional HR areas and can act as a subject matter expert in providing support to customers.
  • Aptitude to coach and train colleagues
  • Ability to diffuse conflict and provide relevant and effective solutions to Employee Relations matters.
  • Ability to think critically and disseminate complex problems while communicating and escalating as appropriate.
  • Proficiency of all related computer applications, including but not limited to MS Office.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in an organized manner.
  • Possess excellent communications and public speaking abilities.
  • Exhibits excellent customer service.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Reliable transportation.
