- Know and follow all of the Company's safety rules, such as safe work practices and standard operating procedures.
- Serve as a good role model to employees for safe work practices and behavior by conducting yourself professionally, keeping in mind your own safety and the safety of others.
- Troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of plastic molds and hot systems.
- Daily use of toolroom equipment such as mills, surface grinders, and lathes to facilitate mold repair or improvement.
- Repair or request replacement parts, tooling or hardware as needed to maintain replacement inventory.
- Set-up and operate all hand-tool equipment along with manual toolroom machines.
- Coordinate with our internal new tooling group for specific operations or needs.
- Understand and usage of toolroom inspection equipment as required.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Completion or enrollment of an accredited two-year technical college program in a related field of study or a state indentured tool and die apprenticeship with journeymen card or equivalent is preferred.
- Five to seven years of applicable plastics experience, or accrued on-the-job training, education, and experience.
- General machining and mold building/maintaining experience; with additional classroom training preferred.
- Experience with repairing and preventative maintenance of molds.
- Experience with toolroom equipment such as mills, surface grinders, and lathes.
- Experience working with hot systems preferred.
- Understanding of mold building and injection molding process preferred.
- Lock out/Tag out and Forklift experience.
