Job Description:Now offering a $5,000 sign on bonus if starting prior to 10/31/2025!MGS has an exciting opportunity for an Toolmaker to join our MGS Richfield Manufacturing team.The Toolmaker is responsible for the repair and preventive maintenance of molds.Below are additional duties and responsibilities:
  • Know and follow all of the Company's safety rules, such as safe work practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Serve as a good role model to employees for safe work practices and behavior by conducting yourself professionally, keeping in mind your own safety and the safety of others.
  • Troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of plastic molds and hot systems.
  • Daily use of toolroom equipment such as mills, surface grinders, and lathes to facilitate mold repair or improvement.
  • Repair or request replacement parts, tooling or hardware as needed to maintain replacement inventory.
  • Set-up and operate all hand-tool equipment along with manual toolroom machines.
  • Coordinate with our internal new tooling group for specific operations or needs.
  • Understand and usage of toolroom inspection equipment as required.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

To learn more about MGS, please visit .Experience and Skills:A qualified Toolmaker candidate would fulfill these requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Completion or enrollment of an accredited two-year technical college program in a related field of study or a state indentured tool and die apprenticeship with journeymen card or equivalent is preferred.
  • Five to seven years of applicable plastics experience, or accrued on-the-job training, education, and experience.
  • General machining and mold building/maintaining experience; with additional classroom training preferred.
  • Experience with repairing and preventative maintenance of molds.
  • Experience with toolroom equipment such as mills, surface grinders, and lathes.
  • Experience working with hot systems preferred.
  • Understanding of mold building and injection molding process preferred.
  • Lock out/Tag out and Forklift experience.
