OverviewThe Utah State University Eastern Department of Theatre Arts, located on the Price Campus, seeks a dynamic teacher-artist. This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position. Review of applications begins March 15, 2024, and continues until filled. The position start date is August 1, 2024.Responsibilities
  • Candidates for this tenure-track position will be expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching. Additional responsibilities include recruiting and directing.
  • The teaching load is assigned by the department head in consultation with the dean and campus leadership. The initial teaching assignment will include courses such as Acting, Directing, and Introduction to Film.
  • Mentoring student actors and designers through tech and dress rehearsals; periodic evening and weekend attendance required.
  • Possible course assignments in an additional area of expertise, per applicant strengths and department needs.
  • Participate in department, college, and university service.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
  • MFA in Acting with professional acting experience at the regional level or higher.
  • Demonstrated track record of ability to collaborate with students, faculty, and staff on directing assignments for mainstage productions in a student-centered environment.
  • Minimum one year of teaching experience at the university level.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three years teaching experience at a university with evidence of successful teaching and recruitment.
  • Directing experience at the university level and/or professionally.
