State Unit on Aging (SUA); Adult Protective Services, and within, the CAPS Check Unit (CCU), and APS Policy Unit
Data, Fiscal and Program Accountability functions are included in both units.The SUA provides statewide supervision and guidance to the 16 Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) in the administration of the services provided with OAA and SFSS funding. This includes providing training and technical assistance, conducting monitoring and other quality assurance activities, and establishing regulatory policy and program requirements.
This Data System Manager position oversees the Colorado State Unit Data System (SUDS), serving as the technical lead and manager for system development, maintenance, and analysis. It directs staff, coordinates with software vendors (e.g., Salesforce), and collaborates with leadership to ensure SUDS supports the needs of the State Unit on Aging (SUA), the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program (LTCOP), and related providers. Responsibilities include managing system updates, planning enhancements, handling support requests, delivering user training, and advising leadership on data strategy. The role ensures SUDS enables accurate, efficient data collection and reporting for aging services programs.Additionally, as the Data System Manager, you can expect to:
- Lead and direct a team of three Data Management professionals in the ongoing maintenance and modernization of the legacy system, SUDS.
- Manage and perform design changes and enhancements, including assessing and identifying problems with the performance of the legacy data systems that support the State Unit on Aging and Aging Network
- Supervise policies and guidelines established by the Department of Personnel Administration (DPA), CDHS, Operations & Strategy and OAADS
- Lead team to review a wide variety of caseload and fiscal data that is used to evaluate program effectiveness and ensure AAAs have the information necessary to implement proven strategies for successful implementation of Older Americans Act programs
- Work with the SUA Program Director, Division Program Evaluator and SUDS staff to analyze performance data and prepare reports that recommend long-term strategies for AAAs in the implementation of programs and services
- Conduct other duties as assigned based on the needs of the Department, the Office, or the Division leadership. At times this position may need to travel to the 16 AAAs in order to provide technical assistance. Additionally, some in-person AAA meetings may be required outside of the Denver metro area, and occasional travel for conferences may also be required
- Two or more years of previous supervisory experience
- Knowledge of Salesforce best practices for development, configuration, and deployment.
- Project management for Salesforce builds
