
Equipment Maintenance Technician

- Troubleshoot and repair analog and electronically controlled equipment in solid oxide fuel cell Manufacturing
- Perform machine installations or modification per instructions; including running new electrical wire and/or piping as directed.
- Help implement upgrades to machines
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment including, but not limited to, lift carts, pallet jacks, welders, metal rollers, Harrington hoists, tuggers, etc.
- Proactively detect, diagnose and repair potential issues using preventative maintenance and inspections tools.
- Maintain and follow preventative maintenance programs with accurate record keeping on CMMS.
- Perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electric and hydraulic; identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner.
- Suggest improvements for tools.
- Maintain electrical equipment to remain operational including breaker boxes, power supplies, sensors, PLCs, lighting, etc.
- Assist with manufacturing when required in a timely manner and mitigate any operational downtime.
- Maintaining equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Support equipment testing and engineering group as needed
- Ensure proper Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO) compliance
- Ensure all environmental and safety procedures are followed and report all unsafe or non-compliant activities and keep the shop area clean.
- Safely operate motor vehicles and other mobile equipment including scissor lift, forklift, skid steer, and others as necessary for maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Technical certification or equivalent experience preferred
- 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience with Automated Equipment, PLC controls, Mechanical training preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Reliable, shows initiative, responsible follow through and a willingness to help
- Strong troubleshooting skills required
- Strong interpersonal skills and an effective communicator
- Able to follow both written and verbal instructions
- Must have computer skills, minimum Microsoft office
- Demonstrated ability to use small hand and power tools, previous experience with P.C. based testing equipment is preferred
- Complete tasks within standard times with minimum supervision
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Must be flexible with changing shift or work schedule
- Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. at a time
- Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products as directed
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as directed (PIP gloves, safety glasses, face shield, cut gloves, safety gloves, arc flash suit, hard hat, fall prevention harness, steel toed boots, proper work attire).
