About Us:Groundworks Industries is a vertically integrated cannabis company based in Oregon, dedicated to cultivating, processing, packaging, and distributing high-quality cannabis products. We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Plant Director to lead operations at our Portland facility. This role will ensure efficient plant operations, consistent product quality, regulatory compliance, and strong team performance across multiple departments.Position Overview:The Senior Plant Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, including cultivation, processing, packaging, and distribution. This position ensures production targets are met while maintaining compliance, safety, and efficiency. The Senior Plant Director will provide strategic leadership, manage plant budgets, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has extensive experience leading large-scale plant or manufacturing operations, preferably in cannabis, agriculture, or a similarly regulated industry.Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Leadership: Direct all daily operations for cultivation, processing, packaging, and distribution to meet production schedules and organizational goals.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to all cannabis industry regulations (OLCC, METRC), as well as workplace safety and environmental standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain product consistency and oversee quality systems to meet company and regulatory standards.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Develop and manage budgets, optimize resource allocation, and control costs across plant functions.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor department managers and plant staff, supporting training, performance management, and team development.
  • Process Improvement: Implement systems and best practices to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support long-term scalability.
  • Inventory & Supply Chain: Oversee supply planning, inventory control, and coordination with procurement to ensure operational reliability.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to executive leadership on plant performance, production metrics, compliance, and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business, Agriculture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, agriculture, or large-scale production (cannabis industry experience strongly preferred).
  • Proven success managing multi-department operations in a regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of cultivation, processing, packaging, and distribution workflows.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with compliance systems such as METRC and regulatory agencies like OLCC a plus.
  • Proficiency with production, inventory, and reporting software.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Hold, or be willing to obtain, a valid Marijuana Handler's Permit
