- Act as a product owner, defining vision, driving adoption and managing technical debt
- Manage hardware and software lifecycle, maintain existing deployments and plan for future use-cases
- Identify processes or technologies that can increase operational and business efficiencies
- Provide escalation support for junior network engineers and operations teams
- Manage the implementation of complex technical solutions with minimal oversight
- Ensure optimal network performance and network uptime of 99.99%
- Work within the guidelines of our change management process to conduct appropriate updates
- Lead troubleshooting efforts in a complex, multi-vendor environment
- Responsible for deploying, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Palo Alto Networks firewalls and related security solutions to protect TQL's network infrastructure\
- Design and implement technical configurations based on business and customer needs, maintain comprehensive documentation, enforce and optimize network security policies and firewall performance, support GlobalProtect VPN, and apply advanced scripting and automation to enhance operation efficiency
- Implement and maintain security policies
- Participate in outage bridges with a focus of quickly restoring full functionality
- Determine root cause and mitigation/remediation efforts to avoid problem recurrence
- Mentor junior teammates, cultivating strong teamwork and strengthening skill sets
- Provide 24/7 first level support as part of an on-call rotation
- Bachelor's Degree and CCNP Certification or equivalent amount of relevant experience
- 7+ years of experience operating as a network engineer in a large enterprise
- Extensive understanding of Layer 2/3 Networks, TCP/IP, IP Addressing Schemes, DHCP options
- Extensive hands-on experience deploying and troubleshooting Cisco LAN/WAN hardware including Catalyst 3850, 9200, 9300, 9500, including stacked deployments, ISR4k, UCS E-Series, ASR1k
- Strong knowledge and experience managing Palo Alto Networks firewalls with Panorama
- Experience with WAN and Tunneling protocols - MPLS, Metro Ethernet, IPSec, DMVPN, SSL VPN
- Familiarity with how load balancers integrate within the LAN/WAN
- Ability to perform and analyze packet captures
- Demonstrates strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, and project-management skills
- Consistent exercise of seasoned judgement and discretion in matters of significance
- Ability to travel as needed - very low travel
