Epic Cogito CertifiedUnder general direction or assignment assists in planning, development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of business solutions. Analyzes assigned tasks and develops solutions to meet the needs through use of business Intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, systems or methods, and procedures. Competent to work on all phases of development independently. Works cooperatively to determine problems that need solving, identifying needs and develops or recommends potential solutions. Capable of providing leadership and technical direction on large multi-entity corporate level projects.Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Business Intelligence, UHS Quality ManagementPrimary Work Shift: DayRegular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40Compensation Range: $40.70 - $61.05 per hour, depending on experienceJob ResponsibilitiesProvides project management skills in relation to business intelligence development as it relates to business needs.Identifies and evaluates opportunities for operational/quality improvement and productivity for the organization. Develops proposals for improvement and presents to Management for approval.Formulates logical, concise statement of business needs or problems. Develops practical solutions to meet needs or solve problems. Develops system proposals into specifications for all projects approved for development.Acts as consultant to users in developing and documenting business solutions necessary for successful departmental operation and control.Creates documents for training on new systems features, upgrades, or refreshers.Provides technical leadership for users as appropriate.Generate standard or custom reports summarizing business, financial, clinical or economic data for review by executives, managers, clients, and other stakeholders.Synthesize current business intelligence or trend data to support recommendations for action.Maintain library of model documents, templates, or other reusable knowledge assets.Create business intelligence tools or systems, including design of related databases, spreadsheets, reports, Dashboards or outputs.Manage timely flow of business intelligence information to users.Collect business intelligence data from available industry reports, public information, field reports, or purchased sources.Maintain or update business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, systems, or methods.Identify or monitor current and potential customers, using business intelligence tools.Disseminate information regarding tools, reports, or metadata enhancements.Provide technical support for existing reports, dashboards, or other tools.Identify and analyze industry or geographic trends with business strategy implications.Communicate with customers, competitors, suppliers, professional organizations, or others to stay abreast of industry or business trends.Create or review technical design documentation to ensure the accurate development of reporting solutions.Analyze technology trends to identify markets for future product development or to improve sales of existing products.Conduct or coordinate tests to ensure that intelligence is consistent with defined needs.Review designs, codes, test plans, or documentation to ensure quality.Interfaces with vendors for acquired systems to insure that UHS procedures are developed and modified to insure that operations are controlled properly.Assesses personal learning needs; attends workshops/seminars system training, reviews literature in system automation to expand knowledge and maintain expertise in project management and proposal development.Develops own personal work-related goals and objectives in congruence with those established by the department and divisions.Abides by the Service Delivery Standards of the Department in interaction with physicians, staff, employees and other customers.Participates as a member of committees as identified.Attends workshops/seminars system training, reviews literature in system automation to expand knowledge and maintain expertise in clinical or financial practices.Develops SQL code for developing business solutions.Create ETL Packages.Uses Epic Cogito suite of tools or other industry standard tools to develop business solutions.Position RequirementsMinimum Required:Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years relevant experience to include: Business Intelligence, or Systems Analyst experience, database code and management experience – WITH - Degree Concentration in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, Business Intelligence or healthcare related field.Excellence in using query languages such as SQL.Good scripting and programming skills.Proficiency in data visualization tools.Excellent understanding of RDMS.One (1) year of Project Management Experience.Must be willing to travel for training and achieve certification within ninety (90) days of completion of training at Epic in application as assigned.PreferredThree (3) years of Reports, Metrics and Dashboard creation.Clinical or Financial Systems Organizational Experience.Two (2) years Epic Experience.Microsoft SQL Certification.Epic Cogito Certified.Why You’ll Love Working at UHSAt United Health Services (UHS), we believe every connection—to patients, to purpose, to each other—makes a difference.
