- Support full-cycle recruitment including reviewing and maintaining quality of job descriptions, job postings, applicant tracking system, light resume screening, and approval process for all JCC staff
- Coordinate new hire onboarding, ensuring a seamless and warm welcome aligned with our values and mission.
- Prepare offer letters, facilitate background checks, and manage pre-boarding documentation in the applicant tracking system.
- Build and conduct orientation sessions and support hiring managers with onboarding plans.
- Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries on HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Partner with the Director of HR Operations and CHRO to support employee relations, performance conversations, and conflict resolution.
- Support the development of a positive work environment built on respect, civility, accountability, the JCC community covenant, and Jewish values.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in the HRIS (e.g. isolved).
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and city employment laws and regulations.
- Help draft, revise, and implement HR policies and procedures to improve operational consistency and fairness
- Perform employee benefits activities as needed
- Champion a culture of hospitality by creating thoughtful and inclusive employee touchpoints-beginning with the onboarding experience to employee recognition and organizational events.
- Partner with building operations and to ensure a welcoming environment for all staff.
- Support organization-wide engagement efforts, including wellness initiatives, recognition programs, and holiday celebrations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and quality of HR service delivery
- Interface with third-party vendors to maximize solutions and services across all areas of employment
- Assist in the implementation and testing of HRIS upgrades or process changes.
- Create and maintain HR documentation and resources for employees and managers.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- 5-7+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Operations role, experience in a non-profit, mission-driven, or hospitality-driven environment a plus.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and managing employee data (e.g., onboarding, job changes, terminations).
- Knowledge of NYC and federal employment laws and compliance best practices.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a hospitality-oriented mindset.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, capability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality.

- SHRM-CP or PHR certification
