- Injury Prevention & Care
- Provide coverage and first aid or emergency care of assigned sports at home and away practices and events as assigned.
- Apply protective or injury-preventive devices, such as tape, bandages, and braces.
- Plan and implement comprehensive programs to prevent injury and illness among athletes.
- Responsible for onsite care of injuries and illnesses including prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation.
- Recognize and evaluate injuries.
- Rehabilitation & Recovery
- Develop and carry out rehabilitation programs for injured athletes.
- Manage post-injury care to ensure safe return-to-play timelines.
- Medical Documentation & Records Management
- Collect, review and enter student athlete medical information into the athletic training database program.
- Maintain accurate record keeping of all athletic related injury encounters.
- Supervision & Coordination
- Supervise and educate student athletic training workers.
- Communicate with healthcare providers and coaching staff regarding the injury status of athletes.
- Coordinate concussion baseline testing for club sport athletes and provide follow up care as needed.
- Contribute to additional projects and initiatives as needed, adapting to evolving priorities and organizational needs.
- Availability and willingness to travel and work extended hours on some weekends, mornings, evenings and holidays.
- Ability to work independently and make appropriate medical decisions quickly.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to travel on planes, buses, vans and cars for extended periods.
- Ability to move up to 100 pounds, with assistance or accommodation as needed.
- Master’s degree in athletic training or a related field.
- Certified as an athletic trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC).
- Washington State Athletic Training Licensure or eligible prior to start.
- Current certifications in First-Aid, CPR, and AED use as a Professional Rescuer.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet one of the following criteria: be at least 18 years old with 2 years of driving experience and complete a driver improvement course, OR be at least 19 with 3 years of experience and successfully pass a motor vehicle report (MVR) check.
- OR a combination of relevant education, training, and experience.
- 2+ years of collegiate athletic training experience.
- First-aid, CPR, AED instructor certified.
- This position may be required to work extended hours during evenings, weekends and holidays.
