UNC Horizons provides comprehensive, gender-specific outpatient and residential treatment for pregnant women and women with children up to 11 years old. The primary purpose of this case management position is to provide case management services for women and their children in a residential setting in conjunction with the therapist and Treatment Team. Case management is a collaborative process that assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the options of an individual's service needs. Some of these duties include treatment planning, job readiness, budgeting, maintaining and updating client's records, documenting services, providing transportation, being on an on-call rotation, handling crises with the support of senior clinicians, meeting and engaging in weekly treatment team meetings, providing resources and referrals for housing, and legal issues, coordinating and consulting with other agencies and professionals as well as leading and co-facilitates groups in an outpatient setting.
Minimum Education and Experience RequirementsBachelor's degree in a Human Services discipline with coursework related to the area of assignment. Some positions may require certification to practice as a certified or licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification Board.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and ExperienceMust have one of the following:
  • QP (Qualified Professional), CDAC (Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor),
  • CDAC-I (Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor - Intern),
  • CSAC (Certified Substance Abuse Counselor) licensure,
  • Provisional licensed LCAS-A (Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist), or
  • LCSW-A (Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate).
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and ExperiencePrevious social work or counseling experience; or experience with the substance abuse population, gender-specific treatment, child and family counseling, and a perinatal setting preferred.
