
Head of Mechanical Engineering

- You will oversee engineering to ensure consistency throughout design of each system and between projects
- Review customer drawings and specifications to determine requirements of the system
- Prepare preliminary functional specifications
- Interact with production personnel to define and solve manufacturing/design issues and implement cost reduction ideas with regard to our products
- You will perform liaison function between Engineering and all manufacturing operations for any related issues, problems or improvements
- Work with Validation Engineer(s) to define problem areas and implement product improvements based on customer repair/rejection concerns
- Lead engineering design reviews as required
- Interact with customers on engineering design and any questions/problems they may have
- You will determine preferred vendors based on parts they supply or propose to supply
- Coordinate as required with internal groups including purchasing, validation, sales, machining, and assembly
- Develop and directs design procedures and methods to ensure standards are met and maintained
- Provide engineering expertise in the areas of tooling, prints, specifications, raw materials and company manufactured systems

- Attend and participate in company meetings in person and remotely
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of four years of machine design engineering experience or equivalent
- Proficient in design software with strong skill level
- Knowledge of packaging processes and ability to interpret complex documents and drawings
- Strong ability to make effective and persuasive arguments, with clear written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates strategic thinking with the ability to plan 1-2 years ahead
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to achieve results through others
- Proven team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Highly organized and computer literate, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
