
Security Supervisor - Grave Shift (Harrah's Casino)

- Assist the Guest Safety Manager in achieving and maintaining departmental goals on assigned shifts. Direct all guest safety activities.
- Monitors activity regarding Iowa Gaming Commission regulations and company policies.
- Handles compliance matters related to the Guest Safety Department.
- Supervise, train and coordinate staff.
- Monitors incident reports, ensure accurate and effective handling, and initiates the investigation process.
- Develops, implements and maintains required internal and external reporting procedures. Monitors exclusion list and ensures effective enforcement where appropriate.
- Operates a motorized vehicle.
- Monitors facilities and department expenses.
- Keep Guest Safety Manager apprised of all incidents regarding guests and employees.
- Familiar with the operation of communications and camera equipment on property.
- Able to handle stressful situations dealing with the general public.
- Strong analytical, oral and written skills.
- Need tact when dealing with difficult customers.
- Bend, jump, twist, crouch, grip and carry heavy loads.
- Run on level surfaces, as well as, up and down stairs.
- Ability to identify and quickly respond to potential problems and conflicts and defend self and others in combative situations.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently move around all work areas including walking and standing.
- Required to initiate positive interactions with guests and employees.
- Initiate interactions rather than wait for a guest to approach.
- Pro-actively encourage guests and employees to have fun to enhance their experiences.
- Use every opportunity to promote events and promotions.
- Actively involved with pre-shift and Buzz Sessions, offering feedback and being a positive influence.
- High school diploma, GED, or comparable experience preferred.
- Previous experience in a Guest Safety or law enforcement, prefer 3 years.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Good oral and written communication skills including tact when dealing with difficult customers; must be fluent and literate in English.
- Ability to maintain extremely confidential information.
- General familiarity with investigative procedures.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in stressful situations with co-workers, guests and vendors.
- Ability to compose clear, accurate, and concise reports.
- Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues.
- Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to lift up to 75 lbs., and ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and stack. Must be able to run on level surfaces, as well as, up and down stairs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Strong leadership, supervisory and interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication (written and verbal).
- Previous experience in a Guest Safety or law enforcement, prefer 3 years.
- Broad knowledge of Casino rules and regulations, policies and procedures for the State of Iowa.
- Must be able to work in areas containing dust, second hand smoke, varying noise and temperature levels, lighting, vibration, crowds and air quality.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
- Must be flexible with schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
