- Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the corporate accounting department, including management and development of corporate accounting staff.
- Oversee the month end, quarter end, and year end close processes, including levels of journal entry and account reconciliation review.
- Assist with providing technical expertise and leadership to the finance organization on the treatment of accounting issues, implementation of new accounting standards and compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
- Support the documentation and maintenance of internal control processes to maintain SOX compliance.
- Serve as the lead liaison for annual external audit and quarterly review processes by coordinating efforts and requirements of corporate accounting and the external auditors.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Treasury, Tax, Legal, Inventory, Payroll, Finance, Leasing and other departments within the Company to understand and assess the impact of transactions as they occur.
- Provide support and expert guidance for special projects and programs.
- Review and update significant accounting policies on an as needed basis. Support ad hoc projects as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required
- CPA is required
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role and prior experience in public accounting (Big Four preferred)
- Deep technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including:
- Statement of cash flows
- Cost capitalization
- Product warranty
- Experience in SOX control execution and process improvements
- Strong knowledge and understanding of SEC Rules and Regulations
- Strong research skills and ability to form opinions/interpretations on accounting standards
- Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications
- Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills
- Must have a high level of ethics, integrity, judgment, and confidentiality
