- perform health assessments to determine the needs of the students while maintaining confidentiality and complying with HIPPA and FERPA regulations.
- interpret assessment results and compile comprehensive health assessment results that address the reason for referral and include appropriate recommendations.
- conduct interviews with parents and teachers and review school records as needed and serve as a member of the IEP team.
- present in-service training and workshops for teachers and other school staff.
- serve as liaison between the student, home, school, physician, and community agencies.
- understand and comply with all TES Protocols and Procedures in relation to job expectations as well as maintain accurate case records.
- model non discriminatory practices in all activities.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A valid California School Nurse credential and a Registered Nurse license issued by the state
- A valid Audiometry certificate
- Knowledge of CA Education Code and CA Code of Regulations, and Office of Education schools' policies, rules, and regulations
- Experience in compliance monitoring of state and federal regulations
- Must pass a background check through local and federal agencies
- Varied work environments, including classrooms, clinics, and homes
- Moderate to loud noise levels and physical demands may vary
- Working with individuals exhibiting diverse behaviors and needs
