The Nursing Suppervisor will supervise Critical Care units to include ICU and/or PCU units as assigned. Will be responsible for assisting with the planning and yearly needs assessment for the unit’s budget. Under the supervision of the Director, the Supervisor will monitor patient care activities within budget, daily census and staff usage, and use of premium labor. The Nursing Supervisor also identifies cost reduction opportunities on a regular basis and recommends implementation when necessary. The Supervisor will oversee the daily charging process and assures staff education and participation in the appropriate assignment of patient charges, as applicable. In addition, the candidate will give feedback, within the scope of the supervisor position, and makes suggestions to staff in regards to behavior that is detrimental to: achievement of patient care goals and objectives, achievement of unit/department/organizational goals and objectives while keeping the manager informed of issues at all times.Essential Job Duties:
The Nursing Supervisor effectively delegates shift tasks and assignments to appropriate health care team members and maintains a positive relationship with the Medical Staff and identifies opportunities to improve service relations. The candidate also assists Director/Manager as needed with department operational responsibilities including accurate and timely input of employee hours and QA data collection.
QualificationsTwo (2) years of recent department specific experience requiredCharge nurse, supervisory expertise in department specific preferredCompletion of an accredited Registered Nursing ProgramBSN preferredRegistered Nurse with current California RN licenseCurrent BLS and ACLS (AHA) certificationBasic EKG/tele interpretation required OR completing a Basic EKG class within six months of employmentCPI certification within the first 90 days of hireNIHSS required within 3 months of hireThis opportunity offers the following:
