
Paralegal - General Liability/Workers' Compensation

- Provides legal support to remote attorneys
- Drafts legal pleadings, correspondence, and other documents as directed
- Monitors and adheres to case schedules and filing deadlines
- Conducts interviews, reviews and summarizes depositions, discovery responses and medical records
- Drafts discovery requests and responses
- Subpoenas, collects and organizes records from non-parties
- Schedules surveillance, medical exams, and site inspections
- Assists in all aspects of trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, coordinating witness appearances, and managing technology setup.
- Responds to inquiries from and interacts with customers, clients, counsel, and witnesses
- Conducts legal research using LexisNexis and other electronic databases.
- Tracks billable hours.
- Organizes and maintains case files and documentation, electronically
- Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed
- Collaborates with attorneys, staff, claims professionals and leadership to accomplish successful business and litigation outcomes.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience in the Legal Support area
- Associate Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Legal Support area
- Experience conducting electronic database research
- Experience drafting legal documents, correspondence, and/or pleadings
- Experience in legal support
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal Certificate
- Defense experience
- Insurance industry experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications with strong overall technical skills.
- Experience working with litigation management software systems.
- Experience with E-filing systems in various local (county), state and federal courts.
- Ability to navigate various courts through knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure and local court rules.
- Experience navigating Clerk, Court and Judicial websites
- Strong organization and prioritization skills
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across all departments and levels. Experience in coordinating with records retrieval services to obtain and manage records.

- Certified Legal Assistant (CLA)
