Balance of State HMIS Administrator
As the Balance of State HMIS Administrator, you will be the primary point of contact for the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and Business Object Reporting Software. Your main goals are to manage the entire training program and ensure the integrity of data across all systems. This is a multi-faceted role that requires a high degree of adaptability, as you'll be balancing a wide range of responsibilities, including managing a team, acting as a liaison, and providing technical support and training to various stakeholders.Responsibilities and Duties
  • Lead and manage the Data Solution Specialist and HMIS Data Clerk.
  • Create and deliver comprehensive training for the HMIS and its reporting
features. This includes adapting your teaching style and content to effectively
communicate with users of all technical levels from beginners to advanced data
analysts. * Act as the primary liaison between the Continuum of Care (CoC), keystakeholders, and community partner agencies, ensuring smooth communication
and implementation. * Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end-users, addressing a rangeof issues from data quality to production of reports. * Monitor and coordinate all changes to the database, ensuring updates align withHMIS data standards. * Generate and submit program and community-level reports from the HMIS.
  • Routinely evaluate HMIS activities and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Stay current with HUD Data Security standards and policies and provide detailed
training to team members and users. * Collaborate effectively with various community groups to resolve implementationissues and problems. * Assist with data cleanup tasks as needed to maintain high-quality data.Qualifications
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced
environment. * Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively explaintechnical concepts to a variety of audiences with different technical backgrounds. * Experience with administering or using an HMIS is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of customer service, best practices and technical documentation.
  • Must have an associate or bachelor's degree, or be actively working towards one.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel/Word) and other web tools and technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and adapt quickly to new workflows, skills, and technologies.
  • Previous experience as a trainer for online platforms is a plus.
  • Experience with service provider organizations is a plus.
  • Must be highly organized, dependable, and accountable.
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
