Summary : The Supervisor, Patient Access oversees the day-to-day operations of the registration units. Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates activities related to registration in collaboration with the manager of patient access. Is responsible for effective department operations ensuring requirements for quality, service, and value are met. Serves as a proactive catalyst for operational change and is instrumental in monitoring the quality and productivity of the department. Is responsible for all aspects of team member management, and for creating a professional practice environment that focuses on all customers.Job Description:SHIFT:Call required - this is a 24/7 departmentKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Is knowledgeable of registration policies and best practices, state and federal laws, and third party payer requirements associated with patient access activities. Holds the team accountable for adherence to them.Assists in the development of and maintains general knowledge of revenue cycle functions.Engages in activities that support people management including payroll, employee performance reviews, and resource scheduling.Promotes and strengthens employee engagement.Participates in process improvement, patient satisfaction, and workplace safety initiatives.Develops and maintains interpersonal relationships with team members and customers.Serves as back up to the manager, patient access in their absence or at their direction.QUALIFICATIONS:Associate’s degree in a related fieldThree years of experience in registration, insurance, or patient billingThree years of leadership experience including leading work teams and/or projectsPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistanceJob classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job dutiesWORK ENVIRONMENT:Normally works in climate controlled office environmentFrequent sitting and standing with movement throughout work spaceOccasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shockOccasional high noise level in work environmentPossible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agentsOccasional contact with aggressive and or combative patientsUse of computers throughout the work dayFrequent use of keyboard with repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and fingers.Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40Scheduled FTE: 1Location: ThedaCare Medical Center - Waupaca - Waupaca,WisconsinOvertime Exempt: Yes
