
Principal Production Planner and Scheduler

- Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple programs and products
- Plan and prioritize operations to ensure customer schedule and requirements are met
- Create production work order documentation for release to the shop floor
- Assist in determining manpower required to meet schedule demands,
- Work with materials planning to determine and schedule materials needed to cover production demand
- Coordinate with program management and the manufacturing manager staffing requirements for production operations
- Monitor jobs to ensure they will be completed on schedule
- Identify potential issues or deal with current disruptions to minimize delays in the value stream
- Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.)
- Prepare and submit status and performance reports
- Keep paperwork organized
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Materials Purchasing and other staff
- High School diploma or equivalent, and 5 years’ additional education and/or related experience
- Minimum 3 years’ related experience in planning or support role
- Experience working with an inventory and/or materials requirements planning MRP system
- Ability to work well as part of an integrated team including technicians, engineers, principal level engineers/scientists along with internal and external customers
- High level of proficiency in MS Word and Excel; basic experience with PowerPoint
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced, highly technical work environment
- Responsible self-starter and team player with manufacturing or service experience
- Great problem solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- U.S. Citizenship is a bona fide requirement
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related technical field
- 3+ Years’ experience in inventory, materials or production planning, or related experience
- Past experience and involvement with production or materials planning
