If you're eager to make a real impact and aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves, we want to hear from you.What's your day like?As a new Automotive Technician at Community Automotive Repair, you can expect a fast-paced and rewarding work environment. Each day typically starts at 7:30 AM and wraps up at 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Your primary responsibilities will include diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues like brakes, steering and suspension, HVAC, engine performance, transmission, driveline, and electrical. Other basic repairs may include oil, tire, and charging system components, and routine maintenance to ensure optimal vehicle performance.You will collaborate with fellow technicians to share knowledge and techniques, fostering a supportive atmosphere. Be prepared to utilize your approved level of mechanic certificates to diagnose and repair vehicles with lots of hands-on work with various automotive systems. Attention to detail and effective communication with service advisors about repair needs will be essential.Your dedication and expertise will directly contribute to our commitment to quality in the auto repair industry.What we're looking for in a Automotive TechnicianTo thrive as an Automotive Technician at Community Automotive Repair, you will need a solid foundation of skills and experience in the automotive field. Proficiency in various repair areas is crucial, including brakes, steering & suspension, and engine work. In addition, expertise in fluid services, oil changes, and tire services will be necessary to meet our high standards. Experienced automotive repair skills, basic diagnostic skills, use of basic diagnostic equipment & tools. Engine, transmission, clutch replacement. timing belt, cylinder head, major engine components, drive train, suspension repair & replacement. Must use and document a logical cause and effect method for recommending repairs. Personal diagnostic tools and equipment necessary to perform functions of this skill level. 3-6 years of professional automotive technician experience. State certifications required. ASE certifications preferred, once hired pursue certifications. Production hours expectation: 42.5-50 hours per week.Your technical abilities, combined with a passion for automotive repair, will set you up for success within our dedicated team.Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
  • Valid driver's license
  • 3-6 years experience as automotive repair technician
  • State certifications in at least 4 core competencies, ideally 8 Michigan state mechanic certifications.
