
Actuarial Analyst - San Francisco Tri-State P&C (remote)

- Various work in Excel, such as reviewing data in preparation analysis, checking data for accuracy and consistency (peer review), drafting reports, and maintaining documentation
- Predictive modeling using GLM’s and non-linear methods using mostly SAS, Python and R, to support rate analyses
- Draft written reports and exhibits, and prepare other internal/external correspondence
- Prepare and submit state regulatory filing support documents
- Undertake research projects of varying shape and size
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, including quantitative coursework in actuarial science, data science, mathematics, statistics, etc.
- A minimum of two actuarial exams, and in pursuit of a credential from the Casualty Actuarial Society
- A minimum of one relevant internship; up to four years of professional actuarial experience highly preferred
- Substantial expertise with MS Excel and Word
- Skilled in SAS, R, Python, and/or SQL
- Intellectual curiosity about the topics of risk, Milliman, and the work of our practice
- Inspired to contribute to the success of a project and succeed as a team
- Enjoys working collaboratively, adept in partnering across time zones while working remotely
- Strong critical thinking, technical, and analytical skills
- Enthusiasm for producing high-quality, professional work with accuracy and integrity
- The ability and willingness to clearly articulate questions and ideas
- Able and willing to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government-issued Public Trust security clearance
- One or more actuarial internship(s)
- Up to four years of professional actuarial experience
- Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau
- Expertise with statistical and modeling tools such as @Risk, VBA, STATA, etc.
- Working knowledge of supplemental database and professional working tools such as Access and PowerPoint
This is a remote position, based in the United States. Occasional work-related travel may be required for practice meetings, company events, industry conferences, etc.The expected application deadline for this job is September 15, 2025.CompensationThe overall salary range for this role is $60,300 - $142,080. A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education (including passed actuarial exams), relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc.For candidates residing in:Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia:
- $66,330 - $116,270 if overall experience is less than 2 years; and
- $74,360 - $130,240 for experience greater than 2 years.
- $72,360 - $126,840 if overall experience is less than 2 years; and
- $81,120 - $142,080 for experience greater than 2 years.
- $60,300 - $105,700 if overall experience is less than 2 years; and
- $67,600 - $118,400 for experience greater than 2 years.
