By blending people-centric leadership with disciplined operational strategies and purpose-driven growth, Barry-Wehmiller has become a $3 billion organization with nearly 12,000 team members united by a common belief: to use the power of business to build a better world.Job Description:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assembly Team Leader to provide effective leadership to our assembly operations, encompassing electrical and mechanical assemblies, pack/ship, final checkout, and painting processes. This role demands a collaborative approach, working closely with cross-functional teams such as engineering, supply chain, machine shop, quality, and field service. The aim is to ensure seamless operations on assembly lines, uphold quality standards, optimize costs, and uphold timely customer deliveries. An in-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, coupled with excellent communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders, is pivotal for success.Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage day-to-day assembly operations, coordinating tasks efficiently.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assembly-related issues post-production release.
  • Lead a diverse team of mechanical and electrical assemblers, painters, electrical test technicians, and shipping personnel.
  • Formulate assembly standards and processes, refining them based on opportunities for improvement or quality and cost considerations.
  • Offer support for safety, quality, performance, and productivity enhancements within the operations.
  • Proactively engage assembly teams to address emerging issues that impact customers.
  • Analyze existing processes to identify gaps and devise plans for improvement to support both internal and external customers.
  • Direct and manage projects that align with improvement initiatives.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by integrating Lean principles, aiding in the development of associates and team leaders, and fostering Lean practices.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction across all organizational levels.
  • Strong leadership capabilities for cultivating a skilled and cohesive workforce, while fostering individual and company growth.
  • Proficiency in structured problem-solving methodologies to resolve complex process, equipment, and manufacturing challenges.
  • Advocate for Lean tools and principles, leading systemic enhancements including process standardization, reporting streamlining, and personnel growth plans.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, adept at managing multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools and MRP Systems.
  • Thorough understanding of operational requisites in alignment with third-party industry standards such as OSHA, UL, and CE.
Basic Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing, industrial or military environment
  • 2+ years leadership experience in a manufacturing, industrial or military environment
