Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
- Participate in monthly close via creation of journal entries, reconciliation, and analysis of accounts.
- Understand and explain in detail financial variances between actual results, financial forecasts, prior year results, and budgets.
- Support the Controller with maintenance of corporate accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure conformance with US GAAP and other laws/regulations.
- Create detailed weekly sales reports.
- Support the Cost Accounting function.
- Process full cycle Accounts Receivable including setup of customer accounts, generate invoices, post payments, and perform collection activities
- Identify and help implement process improvements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Finance Department required
- Experience and clear understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, general ledger, full cycle accounts receivable, and ERP systems (preferably MS Dynamics Great Plains)
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, analytical abilities and organization
- Proficient using MS Office Suites including Excel spreadsheets (creating pivot tables, developing charts with complex formulas)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be a team player with the ability to have positive and effective working relationships
- Desire to work in a challenging environment, be able to change gears quickly, and have excellent time management skills
- Manufacturing industry experience highly desired
