- Assess Technical Data Package (TDP) to formulate design, validation and production strategy
- Develop and maintain program-specific Design Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DFMEAs)
- Lead change control, technical issue resolution and program Engineering deliverables for sub- components and final assemblies
- Lead Design Reviews and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) analyses
- Coordinate, support and/or create 2D/3D designs in SolidWorks to package sub-components into the overall system assemblies, to support internal production and outsourcing activities
- Develop and execute Design Verification Plan (DVP), including reviewing government validation requirement, creating test procedures, planning test equipment calibration and fixtures, perform internal engineering testing and write up formal test report as needed. Maintain and release final testing report (DVP&R)
- Support component and assembly builds from initial prototype through full production launch
- Track engineering issues to support regularly occurring open concerns/issues reviews
- Provide summary snapshots of program imperatives (part timing, part maturity, release status, validation status, etc.)
- Min. of 5 yrs of engineering exp., preferably aerospace/automotive/ defense industries
- Experience launching new models / products through certification and into production
- Advanced and recent hands-on CAD knowledge; SolidWorks strongly preferred
- Experience in engineering risk management tools such as DFMEA and PFMEA
- Strong foundation of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis
- Hands-on experience with testing (from test setup and calibration to writing test procedure and test report) strongly preferred
- Experience in working with and designing electrical content like wiring harnesses, PCBA is strongly desired
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments and/or professionals
- Technical background with understanding of military product developments, including military standards and specifications (MIL, etc.). Familiarity with DoD technical review process
- Ability to perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in SolidWorks is strongly desired
- Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment
- Must have or possess the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering required. Advanced technical degree preferred
