- The BCL/WBL Coordinator reports to the Center Director and is a salaried, exempt position.
- The BCL/WBL Coordinator is responsible for serving as the Business and Community Liaison to engage with business, civic and educational organizations, elected officials, law enforcement agencies and other service providers, including organizations and entities that serve targeted populations.
- The BCL/WBL Coordinator is responsible for planning and directing generating positive goodwill of the campus in and around the community. In addition, responsible for facilitating the development and implementation of the School to Career/Work Based Learning program.
- Works with campus staff, employers, organized labor, and the community to establish and maintain Work-Based Learning site MOUs and agreements that meet the needs of students.
- Serves as liaison between the campus and local and regional employers (non-governmental and private sector), military, labor organizations, workforce/one-stop partners, local Chamber of Commerce and economic development organizations and others.
- Facilitates meetings and activities to bring together the appropriate persons, including employers, instructors, students, and center staff to ensure the success of the School to Career/Work-Based Learning program.
- Works directly with the Center Director and others to facilitate the bi-annual (twice a year) Industry Council and quarterly (4 times a year) Community Relations Councils.
- Maintains an excellent relationship with state and local elected officials to ensure a positive public image for the campus and the Job Corps Program as a whole.
- Visits established work sites at least bi-monthly to cultivate work site relationships. Coordinate, periodically, guest speakers in career training classrooms to allow the vocational instructors to visit work sites and trainees as required for the success of the Work-Based Learning program. This could include Job Corps graduates, local employer partners or workforce/one-stop allies. Submits monthly WBL activity report.
- Bachelor’s degree or four years’ professional experience working with youth preferred. Two years’ experience in marketing, sales, or counseling related areas preferred.
- Prefer supervisory experience.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
- Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
