- Development of technical reports such as work plans, basis of design documents, design reports, and health and safety plans.
- Development of design drawings and technical specifications following design, construction, and government standards, using design software and CAD and GIS tools.
- Preparation of basic designs and analyses such as design calculations, field data results, conclusions, and cost estimates.
- Visitation to jobsites to gain field experience, broaden background, and develop practical engineering skills.
- Performance of field investigations to assist design and construction efforts.
- 2+ years of applicable engineering experience, a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering (or similar), and OSHA 40-hour training and up-to-date 8-hour refresher (or ability to obtain).
- Engineer-in-Training certification or ability to obtain preferred, on track for PE is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated problem-solving ability, creative thinking, and professionalism. Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety. Good interpersonal skills, client focus, and strong ability to work both independently and effectively in teams. Eagerness to continue learning and a commitment to improvement and professional growth.
- The physical requirements of this position may include the need for climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing/sitting/walking, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 40 lbs. In certain situations, this position may expose the candidate to extremes in weather (hot/cold); high noise levels; hazards such as proximity to moving machine parts and moving vehicles, electrical currents, and chemicals. Employees may be required to take specific training and to wear PPE on some occasions.
