- Support the department’s mission and vision.
- Coordinate and organize the activities of the director and other department personnel and manages fast paced environment with frequently changing priorities and projects.
- Perform research on a variety of topics as directed using in-house resources as well as the Internet as well as vendors of Laboratory services and equipment.
- Create a variety of correspondence including letters, memos, pivot tables, charts and graphs.
- Schedule meetings, send out agenda and review materials. Take minutes when requested. Prepares written inter/intradepartmental correspondence including letters, memorandums, policies, procedures, purchase orders, check requests, and departmental forms as requested.
- Update all manuals/lists within the Laboratory Department, including Laboratory Policy & Procedure Manual and Administrative Policy Manual in hardcopy format as well as online documentation as needed.
- Maintain disaster/address list and telephone directories
- Collect and maintain data driven metrics designed to support the department’s quality program.
- Accurately assess issues and classify, compare and contrast data.
- Find creative solutions to solve problems that may result in communication barriers.
- Embrace the organizations Culture of Safety to ensure a safe working environment for our patients, staff and visitors.
- Coordinate department onboarding of new hires & contracted staff including network access requests and department orientation.
- Work in association with laboratory supervisors to help with accreditation functions when needed
- Manage Kronos payroll system for department.
- Maintain department personnel files including required credentials.
- Maintain the Laboratory Policy and Procedure Manual.
- Maintain SigNet department page.
- Maintain file room and office supply inventory to ensure adequate supplies.
- Actively participates and embraces Lean methodology. Utilizes the tools provided and meets the expectation for all required elements as indicated on the Lean qualification grid.
- Participates in daily tiered huddles, effectively manages assigned pillar/s and associated metrics on balance score card and multi-purpose board
- Creates a cooperative work environment marked by sharing of ideas, sensitivity to the needs of others, shared visions, and joint efforts to attain organizational goals.
- Contributes to other areas in the department and hospital.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
- Three to five years progressive experience in an office setting.
- Minimum of Associates degree in Business Administration or medical field or equivalent experience preferred.
