GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The incumbent is responsible for assisting customers in day to day transactions, maintaining cash drawer, closing bank as necessary and answering telephone in a courteous manner.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide excellent customer service at all times. This duty is performed daily.
  • Handle deposits, withdrawals, money orders, cashier checks, travelers check, gift cards and credit card advances.
  • Maintain customers savings passbooks and Christmas club passbooks.
  • Resolves problems or discrepancies concerning customers' accounts.
  • Balance and maintain cash drawer.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures as assigned.
  • Perform end of day recap in absence of Senior Teller.
  • Print counter checks and deposit slips for customers.
  • Close checking and savings accounts as necessary.
  • Transfer funds and keep journal.
  • Process night deposits.
  • Answer telephone in a courteous manner.
  • Accept loan payments.
  • Stock desk/teller supplies.
  • Comply with all department and company policies and procedures.
  • Examine checks deposited and determine proper funds availability based on regulation requirements; complete Hold Notices.
  • Buy and sell currency from the vault as necessary, ensuring that teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded.
  • Balance vault workstation.
  • Examine checks for endorsements and to verify other information such as dates, bank names, identification of the persons receiving payments and the legality of the documents.
  • Scan, correct, and balance all paper transaction items through the Bank's source capture optimization program and submit for processing through the federal banking system.
  • Balance and replenish ATM's as needed.
  • Greet customers as they enter the bank and direct to the appropriate employee. Promote the bank's accounts. Make group employee visits and visit business managers.
  • Prepare written business proposals and present them to potential business customers.
  • Accurately opens and processes demand, savings, and time accounts.
  • Utilizes critical thinking and active listening to resolve customer complaints or problems.
  • Promote and maintain positive relations with all employees, current customers, and potential customers.
  • Represent the bank by serving as member and officer of local organizations, as available.
  • Contribute to the fulfillment of department and company objectives and goals.
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times, actively looking for ways to strengthen customer relationships by cross selling bank products and services.
  • Follow all bank policies and procedures, with regulatory knowledge of deposit-related compliance topics.
  • Assist with office functions as needed.
  • Responsible for checking bank e-mail and forwarding to appropriate person on a back up basis.
  • May be responsible for ordering and maintaining educational supplies and materials for outside use.
