- Function as a Lead Civil Engineer
- Prepare preliminary engineering reports.
- Research jurisdictional requirements for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings
- Prepare of proposal/contract and of project work plans and schedule
- Prepare design and construction drawings using AutoCAD and information obtained from research activities
- Coordinate client management and marketing efforts for future work.
- Prepare GIS exhibits using ArcGIS
- Conduct site visits and documents findings
- Work directly with clients and directing a staff with varied levels of experience and expertise
- Attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes and assist with general project correspondence
- Writes or prepares graphic materials for presentations or documents
- Lead a team of engineers and drafters
- BS Degree in Civil Engineering
- Must be a licensed PE in Oklahoma with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience
- Experience with producing accurate and complete construction plans and reports
- Ability to work independently in a team environment and to manage multiple projects with limited supervision
- Excellent verbal and written skills, communicating engineering information clearly and concisely
- Ability to train staff and review work for quality assurance
- Solid leadership and management skills, self-motivated, and possess a strong ability to meet deadlines, satisfy clients, and solve complex problems
- Knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Civil3D are all a plus
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Willingness/ability to assume increased responsibilities when presented
- Consistently deliver proactive communication with clients. When client issues arise, address or expeditiously escalate to discipline lead
- Develop relationships with clients that allows for ease in communications and problem solving
- Initiate and lead kickoff calls or high-level design calls with client in addition to preparing monthly forecasting and client cost estimates when appropriate
- Troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions, effectively implement and document for internal and external stakeholders
- Acquires, understands, and applies technical and professional knowledge and skills to perform job effectively, efficiently, and safely. Understands and adheres to Huitt-Zollars policies and procedures. Stays abreast of trends and pending changes within assigned area of responsibility.
- Establishes, enforces, and drives policies that promotes Company vision and culture to achieve company objectives.
- Strong business acumen. Offers excellent communication and presentation skills in an organized, professional manner.
- Ability to nurture and maintain key relationships internally and externally through communication and diplomacy.
