Location: The Living Bridge in Dalton, GA.Job ResponsibilitiesUnder supervision of a senior APRN, performs advanced nursing functions and healthcare services in specialized areas. Operates under the nurse protocol agreement with delegating physician, conducts complete physicals, provides treatment, and counsels clients. May prescribe medication in some cases.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Examines clients to obtain information about their physical condition.
- Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory tests.
- Instructs and counsels clients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
- Interprets diagnostic test results for deviation from normal. Makes tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of clients.
- Obtains, compiles, and records client medical data, including health history, progress noted and results of the physical examination.
- Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, injection management, and wound care to include suturing.
- Prescribes therapy or medication with physician approval.
- Develops a comprehensive plan of care.
- Visits and observes clients on hospital rounds or house calls, updates charts, orders therapy and reports back to physician.
- Reviews and develops nurse protocols for use by other nurses.
- Serves as a mentor and/or preceptor for other APRNS.
- Assists with the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing program policies and procedures.
- May work in a specialized area (e.g. HIV and Emergency Preparedness).
- May supervise assigned staff.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Experience with HIV/Aids medical care.
- Experience working with Ryan White clinics/patients.
- Experience working with eClinicalWorks HER systems.
