- Adheres to Advocate Health standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building.
- Assists GME leadership with the implementation and monitoring of the ACGME institutional and program requirements.
- Serves as project lead for various GME related initiatives identified by GME leadership which may include but is not limited to payroll, benefits, match processes, incoming and outgoing House Staff documentation, website administration, regulatory coordination, and residency management platforms.
- Coordinates annual Division-wide orientation program for all new residents and fellows, including delegation and supervision of human resource employee actions.
- Works closely with the GME leaders and department team members to identify process needs, develop plans to control and improve processes, and ensures that optimal service levels are provided.
- Serves as a resource for residency and fellowship program staff. Provides leadership and guidance; provides training to residency and fellowship program coordinators as needed or determined by GME leaders.
- Participates in strategic and operational planning to design, implement, and evaluate programmatic needs
- Represents GME in various internal and external meetings and committees as assigned.
- Plans, develops, and coordinates meetings, newsletters, and electronic bulletins.
- Works with Medical Staff Services office to ensure institutional compliance with all Advocate Health and ACGME requirements, as well as state and federal agencies including the N. C. Medical Board. Coordinates and communicates with other departments/divisions within and external to Advocate Health as needed to perform activities
- Maintains a comprehensive understanding of ACGME institutional requirements and guidelines; stays current on ACGME institutional changes and modifications; understands residency/fellowship program management and is able to identify program information as necessary
- Oversees exit process for residents upon graduation, including preparation of certificates and employee action forms to terminate status.
- Performs other duties as assigned by GME and Medical Education leadership.
