The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials.What your day-to-day will look like:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project requirements.
Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plastic, and other materials. Construct and install building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes.
Install fixtures such as windows, doors, stairs, trim, and hardware.
Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
Operate and maintain various hand and power tools.
Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project completion.
Estimate material and time requirements for projects.
Train and supervise apprentices and less experienced carpenters.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship preferred
Proven experience as a carpenter, with a minimum of 3-5 years in the field
Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical documents
Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and best practices
Excellent skills in measuring, cutting, and shaping materials
Ability to use manual and power tools safely and effectively
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Basic math skills for calculating measurements and quantities
Valid driver's license
Willingness to work at heights and in various weather conditions
Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when required
Certified Lead Carpenter (CLC) is a plus
OSHA 30 certification is a plus
