- Lead the end-to-end transformation of a legacy, custom-built application, ensuring seamless migration of Firebird databases to SQL.
- Oversee the modernization of the .NET application layer to a supported and optimized framework.
- Redesign the UI to be flexible, composable, and responsive to support future UI/UX trends.
- Ensure clear separation of responsibilities between the application, BI/reporting, and integration teams.
- Architect the interaction between database, application, and UI layers to create a scalable and maintainable system.
- Evaluate existing .NET code, optimize design, and implement modern development practices.
- Provide technical leadership for internal developers and external vendors, ensuring high-quality code, architecture, and implementation.
- Establish development best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines.
- Normalize regional datasets into a harmonized global data model to ensure consistency across all markets.
- Architect data flows between the application and enterprise systems to enable real-time synchronization.
- Work closely with BI and data teams to offload reporting and analytics functions from the core application.
- Design and implement integrations with core enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, and other business platforms).
- Leverage out-of-the-box (OOB) features of enterprise applications where possible, reducing custom development effort.
- Define API strategies and integration points for seamless data exchange.
- Define a flexible deployment strategy supporting both cloud and local hosting needs.
- Ensure the new architecture adheres to security best practices and regulatory compliance.
- Design the system for scalability, supporting business growth and evolving technology needs.
- Integrate AI/ML for predictive analytics, automated decision-making, and next-best-action recommendations.
- Support AR-driven workflows for color matching and virtual training.
- Connect IoT-enabled smart equipment to provide real-time operational data.
- Establish documentation standards to capture application logic, data models, and integration points.
- Ensure tribal knowledge is transitioned into structured, accessible documentation for long-term support.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer sessions to scale expertise across teams.
- Design the system to support a global audience while accommodating regional data variations.
- Ensure adaptability to different regulatory requirements, languages, and business processes.
- 10+ years of leading enterprise application modernizations (.NET or Java to cloud)
- Enterprise & Application Architecture: Ability to design and optimize multi-layered enterprise applications.
- Database Migration & Data Architecture: Experience migrating databases (Firebird to SQL) and normalizing regional datasets for global use.
- .NET Development & Modernization: Expertise in .NET development and upgrading legacy systems to current frameworks.
- UI/UX & Frontend Technologies: Experience with modern UI frameworks and responsive design best practices.
- System Integration & API Development: Knowledge of integrating applications with ERP, CRM, and third-party systems.
- Cloud & Security: Familiarity with cloud architecture, deployment models, and security best practices.
- Technical Leadership: Experience managing internal and external development teams.
- Enterprise Connectivity: Ability to balance custom development with leveraging enterprise system capabilities.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and negotiation skills to align vendors and internal teams.
