Join us.ATI is seeking to hire an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to support our Specialty Rolled Products business unit. This position will be based at our operations in Vandergrift, PA.The ideal candidate will provide engineering expertise and support for operations areas through new equipment design and/or existing equipment modification to optimize efficiency, safety, quality, and cost effectiveness.Essential Functions
- Design, test, install and maintain electrical & mechanical equipment and machinery in operations areas.
- Coordinate project work with plant organizations.
- Develop standard operating procedures to improve quality or reduce or eliminate quality problems.
- Review and analyze complex statements, standards, specifications, engineering drawings and other documentation to determine engineering requirements.
- Provide and direct technical expertise and assistance to technicians and hourly craft personnel, etc.
- Perform and/or support the performance of testing of equipment and processes.
- Develop or modify computerized procedures for testing of equipment.
- Determine appropriate test criteria and procedures and analyze data comparing against specified and computer values, making changes and improvements as needed.
- Troubleshoot problems, analyze and resolve issues accurately and efficiently. May inspect, certify and evaluate on-site operational systems and design modifications.
- Prepare reports, proposals and presentations analyzing customer technical requirements and recommend solutions and process improvements.
- Prepare specifications, evaluate bids, and review contracts with selected contractors and vendors.
- Monitor plant maintenance work to ensure that it conforms to safety and code requirements.
- Consult with management of problems and process improvement objectives.
- Responsible for supervising hourly-union maintenance workforce
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electro-mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with electrical or mechanical experience in design, repair, and/or projects.
- Direct or indirect supervisory experience of hourly maintenance workforce
- Computer working knowledge with Microsoft Office - (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to adapt to job related systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written with internal and external customers at all levels.
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems effectively.
- Ability to lead, train and be a team play following all company policies, union contracts and safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently with high motivation and organization capabilities.
- Possess excellent mathematical reasoning abilities in order to comprehend and apply engineering principles.
- Knowledge of electronic systems, control instruments, maintenance and programming techniques.
