An established engineering consulting firm is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Houston office. This role involves the design, development, and support of electrical systems, with a focus on safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, communication skills, and the flexibility to work both in-office, remotely, and at client sites.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed plans, technical specifications, one-line diagrams, and reports for power distribution and electrical systems.Conduct site visits to evaluate existing systems, gather field data, and provide recommendations.Design electrical room layouts, raceway and wiring schedules, lighting, and grounding systems.Specify electrical equipment including switchgear, transformers, MCCs, and power panels.Perform power system studies using EasyPower and/or SKM, including:Short circuit analysisArc flash analysisProtective device coordinationProvide commissioning support for electrical systems.Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (NFPA, IEEE, ANSI, NEC, etc.).Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project goals and timelines are met.Prepare technical documentation and maintain accurate project records.Follow all InterMat and client-specific safety requirements.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (required).Minimum of 2+ years of electrical engineering experience (consulting or industrial environment preferred).Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one (preferred).Strong proficiency in electrical design tools/software (e.g., AutoCAD, SKM, EasyPower).Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to travel to client sites as needed.Availability to work overtime when required.Skills & CompetenciesStrong foundation in power distribution and electrical system design.Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.Ability to perform system analysis and develop detailed technical solutions.Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.Compensation & BenefitsCompensation will be commensurate with experience, education, and technical expertise.
