Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to assist customers and ensure their needs and safety are met. The role involves supporting pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, interacting professionally with customers, physicians, clinic staff, and facility staff, and gathering necessary information to accurately process prescriptions. Maintaining precise records of medications and equipment dispensed to patients, ensuring accurate entry of patient data into pharmacy software, and securing protected health information are vital components of this position.Responsibilities
- Assist customers to meet or exceed patient needs and safety.
- Support pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications.
- Interact professionally with customers, physicians, clinic staff, and facility staff.
- Gather information to properly process a patient's prescription.
- Maintain accurate records of medication and equipment dispensed to patients.
- Enter patient data accurately into pharmacy software programs.
- Ensure correct insurance information is entered and claims are adjudicated properly.
- Collaborate with co-workers, pharmacists, and vendors to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
- Secure protected health information and required paperwork.
- Maintain sufficient prescription inventory levels and order products for the pharmacy.
- Receive, count, stock, and enter data for incoming products and supplies.
- Pharmacy Technician certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Strong customer service skills
- Proficiency with electronic pharmacy programs
- Experience supporting customers over the phone
- Problem-solving skills and solutions-oriented mindset
- Registered with the State of Wisconsin as a Pharmacy Technician
- Troubleshooting skills
- Effective communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
