
I&C Electrical Project Engineer

- Develop Electrical and I&C scopes of work for infrastructure projects which may include modifications to existing systems or addition of new systems; Scopes will include any demolition of existing controls and controls devices
- New systems or modifications to existing systems will be scoped to include I&C design, PLC programming, and HMI programming and any upgrades of existing controls equipment that is needed
- Perform field verification of Electrical and I&C system drawings and field investigations to develop accurate scope of work requirements
- Participate in project reviews to ensure designs are meeting the scope of work requirements
- Provide final drawing and document reviews, including construction redlines, to confirm system sustaining drawings and documents are updated with project revisions
- Provide oversight on infrastructure projects and problem resolution for roadblocks
- Meet ongoing milestones for projects and customer requests
- Meet project expectations for various site projects: Business Unit funded for tooling and infrastructure
- Support startup of installed equipment and other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation and Controls Engineering
- Preferred: Professional engineering license or completion of Fundamentals of Engineering exam plus 5 years of instrumentation and controls experience
- 10+ years of construction project engineering experience
- 5+ years of site infrastructure knowledge
- Knowledge of project processes, working in conjunction with project managers, construction managers, system engineers and designers
- Understanding of PLC programming, troubleshooting and control panel system design; Prefer Emerson RX3i platform experience
- Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) experience, including software development of HMIs. Prefer GE Cimplicity platform experience
- Understanding of discrete and analog control signals; Ability to read and interpret proportional, integral derivative (PID) controller
- Ability to implement field verification, create field notes, read and interpret drawing and wiring, schematics, and update schematic drawings
- Understanding of electrical code requirements
- Understanding of 3 phase power generations, distribution, and metering
- Square D, GE, or Allen Bradley product familiarity
- Breaker Coordination, Fault Studies, Arc Flash Calculations
- 3 phase power generations, distribution, and metering
- Using electrical design tools and software packages. (i.e. PTW, EZPOWER, Power World Simulator, Power Metering demand Software, etc.)
- Ability to effectively communicate design proposals and negotiate options
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to take initiative and work in an ambiguous setting, requiring little direction
- Ability to apply judgment to resolve conflicting requirements
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently: with demonstrated organization, problem-solving and time management skills
