We create the tools, services, and data platforms that form the backbone of the seller experience, from intuitive user interfaces to high-performance backend processing.As a Full Stack Engineer on our team, you will be at the heart of this mission, designing and developing solutions that span the entire technology stack. You will build sophisticated, user-facing applications using Vue.js and TypeScript while also engineering the robust, data-intensive backend services that power them. If you excel at connecting beautiful frontend design with elegant backend architecture, you will be a perfect fit.This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on Coupang's seller ecosystem, delivering solutions that scale with our business and redefine the seller experience.What You Will Do:End-to-End Ownership: Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications, from responsive frontend components in Vue.js to scalable backend services and data pipelines in Java and Scala.Build for Sellers: Create intuitive and powerful user-facing tools and analytics dashboards that help sellers manage their products, analyze performance, and discover growth opportunities.Scalable Architecture: Architect and implement high-performance streaming data processing systems and microservices that can handle internet-scale traffic and data volume.Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and other engineering teams to translate complex business needs into simple, elegant technical solutions.Enhance the Platform: Develop and optimize backend services for processing and analyzing product data, including images and customer reviews, to improve listing quality and search visibility.Drive Technical Excellence: Establish and execute on a long-term architectural roadmap, championing best practices in both frontend and backend development, including code quality, testing, CI/CD, and performance.Data-Driven Solutions: Develop optimal data models for storage and retrieval (NoSQL, Big Data) and build robust data pipelines using technologies like Spark, Flink, and Kafka to support our applications.Technical Leadership: Functionally decompose complex problems into straightforward, maintainable solutions and provide mentorship to other engineers, raising the bar for the entire team.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.6+ years of professional software development experience, with a proven track record of building and shipping full-stack applications.Frontend Proficiency: Strong expertise in TypeScript and a modern JavaScript framework (Vue.js highly preferred; React or Angular experience is valuable). Deep understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and building responsive, accessible user interfaces.Backend Proficiency: 5+ years of hands-on experience building data-intensive applications and distributed systems using languages like Java or Python.Data Systems Expertise: Strong knowledge of open-source frameworks and technologies such as Spring, Kafka, Elasticsearch, and distributed data processing engines like Spark or Flink.Distributed Systems: Solid experience designing, implementing, and maintaining distributed systems at scale, with a strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, and performance optimization.Cloud & APIs: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and a strong understanding of designing and consuming RESTful APIs.Agile Mindset: A self-starter with the ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to evolving priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Preferred Qualifications:Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.Proven success in taking a leading role in the architecture and delivery of complex, customer-facing software systems.Experience with modern data warehousing and table formats like Iceberg or ClickHouse.Demonstrated ability to influence software engineering best practices and patterns across a broader organization.A keen eye for UI/UX and a passion for building products that are not only powerful but also a pleasure to use.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.A customer-first mindset, with a passion for working backward from customer needs to deliver impactful solutions.Pay & BenefitsOur compensation reflects the cost of living across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.The base pay for this position ranges from $142,000/year in our lowest geographic market to $309,000/year in our highest geographic market.
